Trisha Krishnan is a South Indian film performing artist and model. She works primarily in the South Indian film industry, where she has built up herself as a main lead actress. She won the title of Miss Madras (1999) that makes her entrance into film industry. Her first appearence on the screen for a supporting role in a Tamil film Jodi (1999). She assumed her first lead role in the Tamil film Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002) opposite to Surya Sivakumar.

 Later, she starred in the successful Tamil movies like Saamy (2003), Ghilli (2004), Telugu cinema Varsham (2004). For the latter she secured her first South Filmfare Best Actress Award. She also got the South Filmfare Best Actress Award for second and third time for the movies Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005) and Adavari Matalakku Ardhale Varule (2007) respectively.

Intially she appeared in a supporting role in the 1999 Tamil film Jodi,After that she had her first lead role in the 2002 film Mounam Pesiyadhe. She later rose to fame starring in the successful movies, Saamy (2003) and Ghilli (2004) in Tamil silver screen and Varsham (2004) in Telugu cinema,for which she secured her first South Filmfare Best Actress Award. She went ahead to win the award two more times for Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005) and Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule (2007). In 2010, she made her Bollywood début in Khatta Meetha.She was found in her career best performances in Abhiyum Naanum (2008) and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) for which she won Vijay Award for Favorite Heroine and was nominated for Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award.
